To NOOK or Not ...

As you may know, the NOOK is Barnes and Nobles entry into the eBook reader market. I am still not sure if I would prefer the eBook over the hands on book. The price of an eBook of $9.99 for the Amazon's Kindle was one of it's draws that has been upset by increase in the eBook price change recently announced. Another concern is the investment in the ebooks and their stability. What happens when you lose the reader or it breaks? You do not just lose one book but all of your eBooks.

What are your thoughts about the eBook reader? What do you think the pros and cons are?

Ok - here are my questions and keep in mind this is WITHOUT me having "researched" any of this because I don't have $$ right now to purchase, so I'll do more checking when/if I do ever get the $$ and the desire to buy.....I have enough trouble keeping my phone charged, how long do the ebooks stay charged. I'm concerned because I'm outdoors a lot around rowdy younger children with lots of splashing and items tossed-how sturdy are these. Which brings me into water resistanceness (not really a word)? In warmer temps, I'm a out by the water (sometimes in the water) reader....those are my random jumbled top thoughts right now. For now, it's "old" tech books for me ;-)

Good thoughts JJ!!! There are definitely things I would want to think about. There may be pros but there will always be those cons too!!!

It's just not my thing. Maybe because I am so old fashioned..I not techie enough..who knows. I am with JJ--I much prefer to sit out in the swing with a good book.
